Paradise Valley, Arizona
In the 1880's, the Rio Verde Canal Company came up with an idea to turn the desert land west of Scottsdale into a farming section. The company named this area Paradise Valley, because of the abundance of wildflowers found growing througout. Although their idea never came to pass, the name Paradise Valley resonated with people. Incorporated in 1961, today Paradise Valley is known for its wide open spaces, spectacular mountain views of nearby Camelback and Mummy mountains and some of the most premier luxury homes in the country. The town has the highest median home prices in the Phoenix metro area and is among the wealthiest zip codes in the country.
